Combine unique individuals from the television space with creative and funky interior design professionals, place them in identical bare apartments, add furniture and fittings, photographers and a film crew, and sit back and wait for the results.
Welcome to the third annual Moves Magazine “Design Perspective” Challenge, in which two news anchors and two designers teamed up and squared off for the apartment makeover of the year.
Set at the stunning Monaco building in Jersey City and with furniture provided by IKEA, this year’s winning team of Heather Brown (FOX 5 New York) and Matt Wendorff (RPI Design Build) had the challenge of designing an apartment in the theme of “Country” and their makeover was nothing less than spectacular. The team of George Oliphant (NBC & LXTV) and Jill Vegas (Jill Vegas Speed Decorator) created a beautiful
“Town” style apartment and like every year of the Moves Design Challenge, it came down to the wire and kept the judges from calling it a tie! From celebrity interior designers to an HGTV executive to a real estate writer, Moves meshed a Grade A panel of judges to oversee what was a chaotic – but fun – day.
All in the name of charity – a donation valued at $10,000 for the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center, committed to changing the lives of medically fragile children, one child at a time. www.setonpediatric.org
